Let me introduce myself, Herb Turner, retired after working 40 years in the telecommunications industry. My wife of 38 years, Jan, and I are in the process of relocating to Virginia??. We live in Washington state and will travel to California, Texas and South Carolina in the next few months.
In high school, I was the photographer for the year book and the school newspaper. I also worked for the local paper in Petersburg, Va as a photographer and darkroom tech on weekends during high school and college. Those were the days of mixing chemicals; developing film in tank baths and making prints in a dark room.
Fast forward and the digital age of photography is here. A GOOD editing program and good equipment bring out the best of any subject and create a better photograph.
Jan and I are taking our life long hobby of photography to a new level, providing a reasonably priced service to livestock producers; photographic coverage of various events; custom greeting cards and pleasing landscapes as well as sharing our travel experiences with various clubs and school groups throught a basic "How To" relating to travel photography.
Our travels have taken us to many of the National Parks. We have developed a slide show with instructional information entitled "From the Path". This presentation is to educate those who will visit our National Parks or to those who have interest in their beauty as to the maganificant views that can be experienced without having to hike into the back country. The presentation has been well recieved by several Senior Citizen groups.
